Gas Prices-March 8, 2012
I'm sure that more than one of you has thought we must be nuts to drive around in a land barge with fuel prices where they are now. I want to assure you that we watched, listened, researched and read all we could before we chose this lifestyle. We knew prices were going to go up. They are going to rise more before they return to more normal levels. We still consciously made the choice to become geriatric gypsies because we want to be. Fuel prices are not going to stop us for now. It might slow us down a bit if diesel gets to $10 or $12 a gallon but we won't give up traveling. One thing we will do is stay longer in a park than we did this past year. We wanted to see as much as we could last year. We enjoyed every moment. This year we will slow down a bit and take some time to rest. Also remember that we do not fill up this coach as often as you fill up your car. We've not bought a single drop of fuel in the past two months, but we have filled the car countless times. At 25 mpg we are not complaining about anything. It all works out fine. If you are still worried about us, we appreciate all prayers. We have lots to do today so we can head north tomorrow. It is yet another gloomy day on the coast. Weatherwise this has not been a pleasant stay at all. But we loved being with our friends again.
