In spite of very heavy traffic on the interstate we made a quick trip to this city today. We came in on a highway neither of us has ever been on. We were stunned that there are still buildings not replaced since Katrina hit in 2005. How sad. And the houses that have been rebuilt are so high in the air it looks weird. But those are the new rules. We had never realized how many big rivers we cross to get here. I tried to take some pictures but it was tough. I especially wanted a picture of the tunnel under Mobile Bay. Technically I think it is really the Mobile River, but most call it the bay. That picture was just a blur.
Mobile River/Bay
Pascagoula River
Tchoutacabouffa River (no, I cannot pronounce it)
My favorite southern sight--moss dripping from the trees.
All of the trees in this park are covered with it.
Seeing all of this scenery makes this entire trip worthwhile. We have a beautiful country to explore. We hope we are just beginning.
