We both fired a .38 Special, a .22 long rifle and a Ruger Mini 14. As far as I am concerned you can forget the long rifle. It's too hard to load. If you needed it, you'd have to call a time out and ask your attacker to have a seat and wait on you. I love both the .38 and the Ruger. The Ruger had amazing power and was very loud. Eye and ear protection were both required. Otherwise we would still have ringing ears. It was a very busy place. We were able to talk to the guy next to us during the breaks. They call breaks so you can go out and check your targets. He is just out of the Army and had moved here from Chicago on Feb 1st. He was very nice and we enjoyed our conversation. Plus he was a really great marksman. He was impressed that we two old people were out there trying to learn to shoot though he did not use the word "old". We were only there a little over an hour, but we both were exhausted when we left. Bet we fall asleep watching the news tonight.
This was a very different sort of day. We really enjoyed it and might repeat the day. The weather was once again perfect.
