Today was a bright clear day so we decided to drive to downtown Pass Christian. So, we got to the sign that pointed north. We followed the signs only to discover there is no downtown Pass Christian. It was wiped off the face of the earth by Katrina and it has never been rebuilt. How sad. I really mean it is very sad. We remember so many of those businesses and they are still not back. Based on some recent information that came our way we know that there are billions of dollars of unsettled insurance claims still outstanding. No doubt those businesses are part of the unsettled claims. When we think about all of this we know those people in New Jersey have a very long time to wait for their money. I wish them luck.
This tree is a remnant of Katrina. It was damaged as evidenced by the dead limb. However, it was
strong enough to sprout the other branches and is even able to sustain Spanish moss.
As odd as it seems this is actually a hopeful sight. I do love this moss dripping from the trees.
