No words needed.
Copper Mountain ski resort. You will have to take my word for it
that there are actually some skiers on the mountain. We could easily
see them but they don't show up in the picture.
Vail pass at 10,622 feet had the least amount of snow and it was the least attractive. We kept driving. Next is Glenwood Canyon.
Very nice, but the best was yet to come.
That's the Colorado River. By this point in the day it was 60 degrees
and there were white water rafters floating the river.
Sorry about my finger in the corner.
Out of the canyon and on flatter ground for a short time.
Note the rocks that have slid down the hill. There are spots,
though not here, where they slide onto the road and close it
for a while. There has also been severe road damage in Glenwood
Canyon. I'm always insisting that Jerry drives in the inside lane.
Sunrise is a few minutes later on the western slope. But this is
what greeted us when we left Grand Junction. The houses in this
area are magnificent.
Oops, more fallen rocks.
We saw snow skiers and river rafters all in the same day. That's a bit unusual.
At this point the terrain changes and then comes Utah. I have not gone through all of the pictures I took today (90+) and put them in a folder so I can post them. I will work on that tomorrow.
Note: I am so far behind we are already in Las Vegas. We got here this afternoon and have already had fun things to share. Until tomorrow.........
