Virga
To friends living here this post will be boring. But to those in other parts of the country I want to share a picture of virga. That's rain that evaporates before it hits the ground. You can see the shafts of rain but they clearly do not reach the ground. I love watching this stuff! It was a very rainy day today as Jerry, Derrick and Josh repaired sprinkler heads. (I was the lucky one who got to go grocery shopping). As we were driving to dinner tonight, we saw where it was not virga, but instead a very good rain for those underneath this cloud. It appears to be quite heavy. It has been dry so everyone is glad to see the rain.
Watching the weather in this part of the country is really easy because you can see it for so many miles. We'll see if it rains tomorrow as the trio plants fruit trees and blueberry bushes. Think I'll go shopping again.
