Another happy girl-June 26, 2017

Another happy little girl in our family. Zoey who just turned 3
learned to swing all by herself. I have been trying to teach her and
Hannah for a long time. Hannah cannot wrap her mind around
how to make a swing go back and forth without somebody pushing.
Zoey got it on Saturday. I could see in her eyes that it clicked.
I squealed as much as she did. I love these special memories.

Finished!-June 22, 2017

We finished the Victorian playhouse! It is still in our garage for now.
Zoey has claimed it as her very own.
We now are buying cute things for the inside, mainly cooking utensils.
We are really excited about this house. We still have to prepare the site for the house
to be secured. That will be done on Saturday morning. The ground will be leveled and
then covered with pea gravel. We have strong anchors that we lucked into today to hold
it down. I think we are probably more excited about this than either of the girls.
It was so much work but we think it is worth it.
How I would have loved something like this when I was a little girl!

Happy baby-June 20, 2017

Is this a happy baby or what? Daisy is 8 months old. And she is indeed a happy baby. When she laughs we laugh, too. We adore this little girl.

All three girls have loved this remote. It is not usable. Batteries removed.
It's cleaned every time it's played with. Hannah used to point it at the
television set and try to change the channels. Daisy just loves to hold it. So far.

We finished the play house yesterday. I will take a picture as soon as possible. We have to prepare the ground and buy the gravel for the ground around it. Once it is installed it should make for a better picture. We are excited for the girls to have this to play in.

Update on playhouse-June 17, 2017

On June 9th I posted a picture of the Victorian playhouse we had bought for the girls. We have made some progress and I want to share it with you. We were completely caught off guard by the long instructions. The box contains 153 pieces of wood, pounds of screws, bolts and clamps. Literally pounds. So we diligently started one step at a time.

We are building it inside our garage. To be able to breathe we had
to open the door a little which created the terrible glare in the photo.
This was the end of day one of construction.

It's big enough to hold an adult! He is reading the instruction book.

This is the beginning of the front porch.

This is the start of the kitchen.

We have now completed 23 of 53 steps. Next is the roof. It's tall and will be a little trickier than the house. We'll get it done this next week. The girls go inside each time they come over. Hannah has instructed us to get it finished SOON! She is a bossy little thing.

A slimey day-June 15, 2017

Today we made our own slime. After reading through a number of recipes, I found one that seemed less toxic and also very simple. Hannah's slime had a little too much water. Zoey's was perfect.

Zoey's ended up being a pretty color. She giggled
for a long time while playing with this stuff.

Hannah wanted purple. We put equal parts of red and blue.
We ended up with a more gray color than a true purple. It
looks like she is holding a brain! Gross.

We will do this again. It's fascinating stuff even for adults. We will not mix colors next time. And we will use a little less water. All in all a really fun thing to do. Not too messy either.

After the storm-June 14 2017

I want to share this pretty picture with you.

My niece in Birmingham took this picture on Monday from her back yard.
They had just experienced a thunderstorm.

Rainbows are mentioned and described three times in the Bible. Therefore, I see them as a message from God, not the negative connotation some people use.

Another project-June 9, 2017

We have taken on yet another project since we have absolutely nothing to do. If you believe that........

It has taken us three short weeks to get it out of the back of the truck. It weighs
200 pounds so it was a challenge to get it into the truck bed and back out of again.
We bought it for the girls to play here. After we read the instructions we found we
did not have enough room in between sprinklers. So we are looking into constructing
it at their house. However, there's no shade there. So we are still thinking what we need to do.
It is so adorable I definitely hate to take it back. I'll keep you posted.

Pikes Peak-June 1, 2017

Derrick and family made it to the top of Pikes Peak
yesterday. It was all the way up to 32 degrees while they were there.
Look closely and see if you can find Hannah. I think she was cold!
And I believe Daisy could not care less.

This is a great trip if you take the incline but sometimes alarming if you drive all the way up. And down. The view from the top is so pretty that you can clearly understand why "America the Beautiful" was written from there.
