A Long Day-September 27, 2014

Our day of babysitting which started out to be 8 hours but was cut back to 3 1/2 hours actually ended up being 12 hours. We are completely wiped out.

But before I crash I want to tell you that I received an email on my iPhone on Friday. It had no sender, no subject, no topic and was dated 12/31/69. It could not be opened so that it could be deleted. It took me hours to get rid of it. All I am saying is that if you think an iPhone is secure, please think again. I do not have any personal information on mine and no account numbers are on there either, so I am not worried. Just let this serve as a warning to you to be cautious what you put on your smart phone.

Now I'm going to crash.

Have a wonderfully blessed Sunday.

Octoberfest-September 26, 2014

After a very busy week, we gathered up the energy to go to Octoberfest in downtown Greeley. It ended up being a lot of fun. Hannah walked the entire park before she stopped to dance. That little girl has music in her soul. When she hears any kind of music she just starts dancing. She doesn't care who looks or what people say, she just dances with such ease. I did take videos but I simply cannot figure out how to load them onto this blog. If anybody knows how, please email me or post it at the end of today's blog. I really want you to see her. It makes you feel good to watch the joy music brings to her.

I only managed to get one photograph of Hannah playing in the park where Octoberfest was held.

There were so many activities to be enjoyed by all. Also lots of great German food. Oh, yummy, we had krautburgers. Then Jerry went back and got a buffalo brat for "dessert". He said it was excellent. There were lots of games for all different age groups including adults. And of course, the music. All of us had a great time. Somebody put a lot of work into this celebration of German culture.

Earlier today we were playing with all sorts of fun things. I took several small objects and made a circle. I told Hannah to look at the circle I had made and she said, "No, that's a roundabout". How on earth would a 2 year old know what a roundabout is? We were absolutely stunned. Then we laughed so hard we didn't know what to do.

Tomorrow is Derrick's birthday so he is going for a ride on his Harley with a bunch of friends. We report for babysitting duty at 8:30 AM. That's early!

Back to Hannah-September 23, 2014

If it bothers you that this is a travel blog and I keep posting pictures of Hannah which has nothing to do with travels, then know that I am bothered, too. At the same time, while we are here she is the center of our universe. So either we have to stay here and I have to change the name of the blog OR we will have to move on down the road when the snow flies and resume the travel blog. Time will tell what happens.

I uncovered a box of toy china dishes that I played with when I was small. I had no idea what Hannah would do with the dishes. I even knew there was a chance some would get broken. Thankfully that did not happen. And Hannah fell in love with the little dishes. We had four separate tea parties in this coach. She served every one of them. If we complained she'd find another creamer or sugar bowl to add to our cups of "tea". It was all pretend. And what an imagination she displayed. We never know what to expect out of her. She had so much fun it was hard to get her in the car to take her home for her nap.

There are actually four separate sets of dishes ranging from the tiny ones on
Hannah's left side to the slightly larger ones in front. She matched all the cups
and saucers without problems. Notice here she is also serving two of her mew-mews.

Here the tea party was moved to the little table. This time "Cheetah"
gets served some tea. And yes, Jerry is doodling on his iPhone.
And yes we live like hoarders because we don't have room for what we use.
Such is life.

As always, we look forward to what tomorrow holds for our time with Hannah.

Sunset-September 22, 2014

If you have been following this blog you know that I spend more time looking up than looking down. Therefore, last Friday I saw one of the most extraordinary sunsets I have ever let my eyes gaze upon. It took my breath away. Keeping in mind the pictures were taken with an iPhone you might have to use your imagination a bit.

This was the beginning of the sun setting behind the mountains.
You can see the tiny white circle.

Before it was over the entire sky looked like molten lava.
I wish you had seen it in person.

It was just some more of God's handiwork that He painted for us to enjoy.
And enjoy it I did.

Finished-September 21, 2014

Our task for all intents and purposes is completed. We think our life will now return to normal though "normal" is a relative term. Sometimes when you have difficult things to do it feels so good when it is done. We feel good!

Thanks for your patience.

I have a few pictures to share (not of Hannah) but I have not downloaded them from my camera yet. I'll try to do that tonight.

Much ado about something-September 7, 2014

We have a residency issue to take care of. It will probably take a couple of weeks. So, the blog posts might be few and far between for a few days. But rest assured, I'll get back in the swing of things as soon as possible.

Hope you understand..............

Where'd the time go?-September 3, 2014

I have lost all track of time. If I didn't have a calendar I would get the days confused. I am not complaining about the time spent with Hannah. It's just that we are constantly busy. We have tomorrow off so we will go to Denver for lunch with Judy. We are really looking forward to it.

Today we took Hannah to the same park. She really likes that park. There were only two other kids there today and Hannah actually spoke to them. The little girl whom I would estimate to be about 5-ish had on such a pretty pink and black dress and red cowboy boots. She was adorable.

If you are tired of pictures of Hannah, you can stop reading now.

Surely I have mentioned she loves to dig in the dirt.

She has graduated to the big girl swings.

The black object on the right side of the picture is a steering wheel.
Hannah loves that wheel. She pretends she is driving a race car.
And we cheer her on so she giggles while she's driving.

Sorry this was in the shade, but Hannah really enjoys running
around these huge old trees. Jerry did a good job of hiding himself,
didn't he?

We had a fun day today as we always do with Hannah. It was a very hot day, only a degree below the record high. Night before last it was 47 degrees here. Such extremes cause strep to run through the schools. Maybe it won't be that way this year. The forecasters say summer is over and very cool weather is moving in. You will not hear us complain.
