Delayed post-February 3, 2019

I wanted to let you know why I have not posted for several days. A week ago, Zoey, the 4 year old, was flown from the local hospital to Children's Hospital in Denver. She remained in ICU until yesterday morning. She has a severe case of RSV and she has been one sick little girl. The doctors are hinting they might release her tomorrow or Tuesday. Originally it was another 10 days.

Yesterday while babysitting Hannah and Daisy, little Daisy became very ill. She was completely lethargic and only whimpered. She would not eat or drink and she was so weak she couldn't hold her head up. When she spiked a 103 fever we called Derrick out of a district volunteer training class to come take her to the doctor. He and Daisy were in the local hospital until 11:00 this morning. She, too, has RSV but not nearly as bad as Zoey's case has been. The doctor told Derrick that there is no way Daisy could have had a 103 fever. I was livid when I heard that. How on earth would he know? If I knew his name I'd meet at the hospital door and have a "chat" with him. At any rate Daisy should be able to recover without any outside help. We are both showing signs of the virus now but we should be able to fight it off.

All of this meant Hannah spent the night with us last night. She has not done that in years. We made her a bed in the princess castle tent. She absolutely loved it. She got up this morning and she was happier than we have seen her in a very long time. It was a fun time for us.

As soon as life returns to normal I will get caught up on this blog.
