Rio!-October 13, 2011

When we were here before, we found the Rio to be one of the most exciting places in town. They have a show every hour plus a "Show in the Sky". It is like a Carnivale parade but the floats are actually in the ceiling. The dancers/riders perform while in the float suspended from the ceiling. The floats run on a track so they make a huge loop of the entire first floor of the hotel. They toss beads of course. It is really hard to explain but take my word for it, it's great fun! Penn and Teller have a permanent show at the Rio. I wish they were not so expensive. We just can't justify the prices they are asking for these shows. The Show in the Sky is free as well as the singing/dancing show before it starts. The Rio is just a great place. If we weren't living in our permanent hotel room on wheels, we would definitely spend a few days there. The traffic coming into the strip in both directions tonight was startling. So, obviously some people are not bothered by the price of these shows. Maybe it's just priorities. If $100 bills were raining from the sky we'd see it differently! But they're not, so we don't. The Rio is a must see if you come to Vegas.
