The Big Texan-April 11, 2012

We saved the best for last. We had lunch at The Big Texan today. It has been highlighted on The Travel Channel. It's been in Amarillo for eons of time. Our first stop here was probably 25 years ago. It is a place that tourists like to go, but it also has very, very good food. We knew we'd have lots to do tonight to get ready to hit the road tomorrow. (That is if the wind allows us to sleep. It's awful right now and it's dark and gloomy). The Big Texan is the place where if you can eat an entire dinner which includes a 72 ounce steak in an hour, it is free. If not, it is very expensive. Years ago it was over $50. It might be closer to $100 now. Who knows for sure? We enjoyed a relaxing lunch which included a big cold crisp salad in a small skillet. They do offer a free ride from many locations including this RV park, but when you see the limos you'll see why we drove ourselves.

Would you ride in one of these?
