LV Strip-April 8, 2019

We figured out the best way to travel the Strip. It's dreadful having to drive it yourself. The taxi cabs are loony. The traffic was far less today than yesterday. However, we made the mistake of going past the Convention Center. This week is the convention for the National Association of Broadcasters. There are approximately 90-100,000 people here for that convention alone. Plus there were two Dem presidential candidates here. Saturday President Trump was here. And yesterday was the Academy of Country Music awards ceremony at the MGM. We were here and nobody said a word!!

The Monorail. It's absolutely the best way to get around Las Vegas.
It goes from the north end of the Strip all the way to the south end.
You can get off and on as you please. Stay as long as you want and hop
back on when you are ready. There are only 6 free places to park in LV
these days. The big hotels and even some of the small ones charge for
parking even for the guests staying in the hotels. It varies from $15-30 per day.
We found one free spot at SLS. Parked all day. Hopped on the Monorail.
And we had a fabulous time!

Here are a few random pictures of the Strip. It's much prettier at night but we don't go to the Strip at night.
The Paris. We have ridden to the top of the Eiffel
Tower. It's a beautiful view but there's one view
that's even better now. (more on that another day).

Stratosphere. Used to be the tallest building in LV.
Not anymore. (more on that another day).

Needs no comment, does it?

The big blue building is being built on the land where the old
Riviera was. That was a very old and outdated hotel/casino. I think
it was one of the first ones built.

The amount of construction has been a shock to us. We didn't think there was any more land to build on. How wrong we were. There is massive construction everywhere.

There are so many pictures of this place to post but this was a very busy day and I am tired! Be patient. More to come.
