Bullhead City, AZ-March 5, 2013

Thankfully, we did arrive safely in Bullhead City this afternoon. Neither of us was prepared for the extraordinary beauty of the land between Kingman and Bullhead City. Jerry, who is normally so busy driving he makes no comments, was heard saying more than once, "Look at this!". As usual the pictures don't really do it justice, so you will have to take my word for it. This is some of the most beautiful scenery we have seen, well except for Montana. The vistas were breathtaking.

Got cactus?? Saguaro cacti just outside of Wickenburg, AZ.

We went through a forest of Joshua trees. This is the only picture that was
close to viewable. The others were blurred. Joshua trees are my favorite desert plant.

At last we saw water! Not too far from Wikieup, AZ. This is Burro Creek.

Yes, the highway went through those mountains. The other side was a 6% grade downhill
for 12 long miles. The other side was where the real beauty began.

The beginning of the "other side". See the upcoming hairpin curve. The beauty began here.

Getting closer to Bullhead City.

No, that's not the road we drove on!

I only took 88 pictures today. Be happy I only posted 7 of them. The scenery was just beyond description. I think we have some great pictures ahead especially of the Colorado River which actually has water in it. We are happy to be here.
