King's Day-January 6, 2014

Fortunately where we are located we get local television out of New Orleans. Because of that we just found out that today is King's Day. It is the official beginning of the Mardi Gras season. So, the mayor cut the first King cakes this morning. One of them was chocolate. We both drooled over that one. We must find out where to buy one. Anyway, New Orleans is having two parades tonight. Can you imagine being out in this horrible weather for a Mardi Gras parade? I cannot. The people on the floats have a way to stay warm but the people on the streets will be close to frozen before the parade is over. One of the krewes tonight is Phunny Phorty Phellows. How's that for a weird spelling? I wonder if this blot spot will let me leave those as I typed them?

For the record, Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is six weeks from tomorrow. It will go by quickly.
