Spring at the Conservatory-March 21, 2014

As previously mentioned we heard that the Bellagio finally got the show changed and it is now open to the public. Gone is the Chinese Year of the Horse and in is a gigantic tree house as a tribute to Spring. How gorgeous it is! I'll spare the words and post the pictures.

The trunk is fiberglass and hollow so people can walk through.
There's a koi pond on each side of the tree.
The koi pond camera is inside the trunk and shows the fish up close.

The koi were eating the live plants at the edge of the pond.
Is that what koi do?

The tulips are 18 feet tall. Everything is done on a large
scale in this beautiful garden.

This flower pot must have been at least 8 feet tall.

If I had to estimate the height of this tool I would
be forced to say close to 30 feet high.

Even the caterpillars are huge!

The entire Conservatory is so colorful and it smells heavenly.
There are 80,000 blooms in this atrium.

This entire framed picture is made of living plants. It is stunning.

The butterfly house is back again, but larger this time.

 And then outside..........
The shorter tan building is The Cromwell. One of two new
hotel/casinos on the Strip. It will be the home of
Giada  De Laurentiis' first Las Vegas restaurant.

We found a shady spot to wait for the Fountains at Bellagio
to perform. Right on time a lady with a nice voice said the
first show would be two hours later for today only. We left.

For a mere $10 Jerry could have had his picture made with
these lovely showgirls. He declined!

On our way back home we drove on the backside of the strip and found places we have never been in. We are eager to do more exploring. Hopefully there are fewer drunk college students on those streets. It is unbelievable to see all the drunk young people. Keeps the cops busy, no doubt. Apparently casino security people turn a blind eye because most of them are too young to be in there. Just like on the coast, the dollar comes first and trumps all laws on the books.
